Locally Produced Food

Farmers Markets and CSAs (Community Supported Agriculture) are an important part of our local economy. They offer community members opportunities to purchase locally grown produce and agricultural products and build important connections between consumers and growers. A significant amount of Orleans County is considered a Food Desert by USDA. Farmers Markets and CSAs improve access to fresh nutritious foods and can contribute to a healthier Orleans County.

Orleans County Cornell Cooperative Extension works collaboratively with Farmers Markets and CSAs to enhance their visibility and vitality and promote the agricultural industry. If you coordinate a local Farmers Market or CSA, contact the office at 585-798-4265 or orleans@cornell.edu with your hours of operation, location, and product offering. Also, let our staff know if you are seeking additional vendors or educational events/workshops for your market. We will post information about each Farmers Market and CSA on this web page and promote opportunities for community members to purchase locally grown produce and agricultural products.
