Contests at the fair

Want to participate in a contests while you're visiting. We have several options for fun, many with no cost or a low cost registration.

The Great Round Hay Bale Rolling Contest
Teams of two (ages 16 and over) compete to roll a round bale of hay through a  challenge course. With an entry fee of only $10 the fastest team each night will receive $50. Enter at the fair office prior to the event. Contest will be Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights at 10:00. Winners will be invited back for a championship round on Saturday.

Orleans County's Smelliest Shoe *new for 2022*
Bring your dankest, stankest, footwear. Our panel of celebrity judges will use our scientifically tested method to smell each shoe while you offer your brief explanation of why your shoe deserves to be named the smelliest in the county. The winner will receive a gift certificate for some new kicks! Register at the fair office. Limited to 15 participants. Shoes must be authentically smelly and can not be soaked in fluid or otherwise enhanced.

Small Fry Pedal Tractor Pull
Another classic, free for those youth who love tractors and love to pedal. This fun scaled down version of a real tractor pull is fun for all. All participants receive a ribbon and prize. Register Tuesday through Saturday at the fair office. 

$1000 Karaoke Challenge
Got pipes and know how to use them? Or just want to hear some of your neighbors and friends butcher that Taylor Swift or Hall and Oates? come out and enjoy the karaoke contest. Plus you never know, you could be going home Friday night with a little extra money in your pocket. Register at the stage. Qualifying contests will be held Monday through Thursday with the finals to be held on Friday. $1000 prize distributed among 1-5 place finishers in the finals.
