Join Orleans County Master Food Preserver volunteers in this hands-on class series!
Pressure Canning: Wednesday, August 6th, 6-9pm, $15. This hands-on class will allow participants to learn all of the steps required to safely preserve low-acid food in a pressure canner. Banish your fears and learn how to use your pressure canner to expand your food preservation skills.
Kimchi: Wednesday, September 3rd, 6-9pm, $15. Learn how to make this spicy and flavorful fermented Korean side dish in this hands-on class!Each participant will prepare their own Kimchi and take it home in their own Mason jar fermentation kit.
Apples: Wednesday, October 1st, 6-9pm, $15. This wonderful fall fruit can be processed and preserved in so many different ways! In this class, participants will use different styles of Boiling Water Bath canners to preserve apple preserves and applesauce.
Jams: Sunday, November 16th, 1-4pm, $15. Learn how to make delicious fruit jam from fresh and frozen fruit. These would be a beautiful holiday gift for loved ones.
